As an initiative to assist the Covid afflicted children, the Haryana state stepped forward with a programme named “Hope: Sangharsh Se Utkarsh Tak Hum Aapke Saath Hain.”

The programme was kick-started on Wednesday via virtual mode. During the event, Justice Ranjan Gupta, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court & Executive Chairman of HSLSA said ensuring the well-being of those who lost their parents to Covid is one of the major concern at present. These children need extra attention and special care from society.

The Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HSLSA) came up with the program to create awareness about the rights and benefits of the COVID destitute who lost their parents in the pandemic.

The project’s action plan specifies the role of District Legal Services Authorities in spotting such children and finding their surviving relative who can look after them. If no such person is found, the child will be rehabilitated in the child care establishment and put up for adoption according to the guidelines.
