With a surge in COVID cases in the state, the Nitish Kumar government bring forth a special relief for those orphaned because of the pandemic. Kumar administration annunciated that all the children who have lost their parents because of the ongoing pandemic will be provided with financial assistance for their well-being. The government would give a monthly allowance of Rs. 1,500 until they attain the age of 18. Also, they will be housed in State child care centres. It has also been announced that orphaned girls will be given admission to Kasturba Gandhi residential school on a primary preference.
